Fun with Camera Settings

To my despair, just a few weeks before our San Diego trip, the camera Mr. Brown Eyes bought while we were dating gave up the ghost. I still remember the night he bought it, plugging the battery into the wall and waiting anxiously for the little yellow light to turn green, filling the time until it was charged with Chinese food and making out. That camera journeyed to Jamaica with us, survived being crushed between a rock and a hard place (literally, a rock and Mr. Brown Eyes' rear-end), and witnessed the birth of our first child. I had a hard time accepting that it was dead. And I wasn't over-anxious to find its replacement.

But our vacation to San Diego required a camera, so on our way out of town we stopped at Best Buy and scoured their camera collection. In complete betrayal of our faithful old camera, we picked out a new one in about ten minutes. Mr. Brown Eyes liked it because it was waterproof, shockproof, and took much better pictures.

I liked it because it was red.

Yes, I'm a very discerning consumer.

Our new camera has some very fun settings. We had a great time playing with them.

Punk

Dramatic

See the face in the clouds? My mom discovered it.

Fragmented

 Watercolor

...and my personal favorite
Fish Eye

His huge head! His tiny little hand! This picture cracks me up!

Not to mention that it got totally drenched by a pilot whale at SeaWorld. And survived.

And so...in the midst of our fun and revelry, our old camera was forgotten.

Sorry, old camera. You lived a good life.

Thanks for all the pictures.

Moving on,
The Brown-Eyed Girl
